On July 28, 2026, at a meeting between Ziyoratsho Ghulomzoda, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, and representatives of the International Payment System VISA, CJSC International Bank of Tajikistan, CJSC MDO Humo, and OJSC Alif Bank, the launch of the Apple Pay international payment service in the Republic of Tajikistan was discussed. During the meeting, representatives of the International Payment System VISA and credit financial institutions expressed their willingness to implement this service.
The launch of Apple Pay is an important milestone in the development of the national payment system. This event demonstrates the integration of Tajikistan's financial market into the global digital system, the adaptation of its infrastructure to international requirements, and the readiness of credit financial institutions to implement advanced payment technologies.
The meeting emphasized that, in accordance with the instructions and orders of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, the country continuously implements measures to digitalize the economy, introduce financial innovations, and expand cashless payments.
In order to achieve these objectives, the National Bank of Tajikistan, in collaboration with credit financial institutions, has undertaken significant work to develop a modern payment infrastructure. Currently, the country offers real-time interbank settlement systems, instant transfers, mobile and online banking, and a unified QR code.
Along with the international payment services Google Pay and Garmin Pay, the launch of Apple Pay will further expand the range of modern payment services.
The introduction of this modern payment service was made possible by the National Bank of Tajikistan's consistent efforts. These efforts are aimed at developing the payment system infrastructure, implementing advanced financial technologies, expanding non-cash payments, and integrating the country into the global digital space.
The National Bank of Tajikistan will continue to take the necessary measures as part of its policy to develop the digital economy, introduce innovative payment technologies, increase financial inclusion, and expand modern payment services.
