Financial Literacy Festival in Buston city


As part of the Action Plan for the Implementation of the Financial Literacy Program for 2026–2030, the Financial Literacy Festival was held in Buston city on June 25, 2026, at the initiative of the National Bank of Tajikistan.

Daler Murodalizoda, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, and Firuza Nurullozoda, Mayor of Buston city, attended and spoke at the opening of this forum, which was held at the Palace of Culture.

During their presentations, they underlined that improving financial literacy is an important factor for the sustainable development of the banking system, strengthening public trust in the financial system, and expanding the payment infrastructure.

Later, during the event, specialists from the National Bank of Tajikistan, financial institutions, and insurance companies delivered presentations on current issues. The topics covered "Internet Fraud and Methods of Prevention," "Non-cash Payments and Their Safe Use," "Loans for Trade and Production Development," "Property and Vehicle Insurance as a Means of Protecting Financial Security," and "Types of Islamic Finance."

The program also featured a financial literacy question-and-answer contest, where winners and active participants were awarded with commemorative gifts.

In total, more than 300 people took part in the festival, including representatives of government agencies, migrant workers, women, youth, teachers, and students from secondary, vocational, and higher education institutions.

During the second part of the festival, a financial services exhibition was held in the central square of Buston city. There, 29 financial institutions and 9 insurance companies presented their services and financial products, and provided citizens with consultations and recommendations on using modern financial services, identifying e-wallets, submitting applications for payment cards, and more.

It's worth noting that holding such exhibitions helps raise public awareness of financial services, promote healthy competition among market participants, and improve the quality of financial services.

The cultural portion of the festival featured musicians and singers engaging financial literacy quizzes for participants, especially children under 12, where winners were awarded souvenirs.

The festival's competition posed over 30 questions on key issues in the banking and insurance systems, including recognizing financial fraud, the legal implications of drop shipping, the proper use of payment cards, the priority of cashless payments, loans, deposits, and savings, the national currency and its security features, and the importance of property and vehicle insurance.

In total, more than 3,000 residents and guests of Buston city took part in all events of the Financial Literacy Festival.
