Financial Literacy Festival in Dushanbe


On May 1, 2026, at the initiative of the National Bank of Tajikistan, Executive Authority of Dushanbe City and in collaboration with credit and financial institutions, insurance companies, and development partners, the Financial Literacy Festival was held in Dushanbe. The first part of the Financial Literacy Festival has opened in the hall of the Odina Hoshim Children's Art School.

Addressing the audience at the festival, Firdavs Tolibzoda, Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, has noted that improving the financial literacy of the population is a key factor in the development of the banking system, ensuring its sustainable functioning, and strengthening public confidence in the financial system. The goal of the festival is to expand public access to financial and insurance services, familiarize the population with the services of credit and financial institutions, and thereby improve the financial literacy. In this regard, the National Bank of Tajikistan, as the financial market regulator, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, ministries and agencies, and development partners, is implementing the necessary actions.

It was noted that from 2022 up to present, Financial Literacy Festivals have been held in 31 cities and districts across the country, reaching over 72,000 people. At the same time, since 2023 up to date the country's credit institutions have held over 5,600 educational events, involving over 330,000 students from secondary, vocational, and higher education institutions, employees of public and private enterprises and organizations, women, and migrant workers.

Furthermore, information platforms, including the fingram.tj website and dedicated social media pages, have been activated, and educational materials are regularly provided to improve the financial literacy of the population. The development of digital financial services and the expansion of cashless payments in the country also contribute to improving the financial literacy of the population. In this context, the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan has approved a resolution "On program for improving the financial literacy of the population for 2026-2030," which will be implemented with the participation of all relevant agencies and development partners.

In his speech, Deputy Mayor of Dushanbe Mehriddin Tohirzoda drew the attention of the event participants to the need to gain financial knowledge and the importance of financial education in the modern era. It was noted that such events create a favorable basis for learning from experience, exchanging ideas, familiarizing themselves with new financial products, and strengthening financial education.

During the event, Deputy Chairman of Board of the State Unitary Enterprise RT Amonatbank Rukmina Safarzoda, Head of Entrepreneurship Support Department of the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan Iqbol Boboev, Head of the Corporate Business Unit of OJSC Bank Eskhata Umarjon Umarov and Head of Inspection Division, Financial Monitoring Department of the National Bank of Tajikistan Behruz Izatulloev have made presentations on topics "Access to Loans for Entrepreneurship Development in the Regions," "State Support for the Development of Women's Entrepreneurship," "Green Loans," and "Fraud Prevention."

As part of the Financial Literacy Festival program, an awards ceremony was also held for the winners of the "Best Credit and Financial Institution Providing Non-Banking Services to Women Entrepreneurs" competition. It was noted that this competition supports women's entrepreneurship, promotes financial services among businesses, the public, and especially women entrepreneurs, and improves their access to financial and non-financial services.

CJSC Arvand Bank took first place in the competition, LLC FINCA took second place, and CJSC Sanoatsodirotbank and CJSC Investment and Credit Bank of Tajikistan took third place.

CJSC Amonatbank, CJSC Imon International Bank, CJSC Eskhata Bank and CJSC Humo Bank were also awarded the certificates of appreciation for their active participation, and five successful entrepreneurs—Muqaddas Sultonova, Nargis Shermatova, Nigina Ikromi, Istamoy Madalieva and Gulbonu Navruzova have received commemorative gifts from the National Bank of Tajikistan.

The second part of the festival continued throughout the day in Kurushi Kabir Park with an exhibition and fair of financial and insurance services, where credit institutions have presented their products and services to festival participants.

The festival's final part featured cultural and entertainment programs, quiz and performance of famous Tajik singers adding to the event's unforgettable festive atmosphere.
