Participation in the Spring Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank Group

On April 17, 2026, the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan participated in the Constituency Meeting of member-countries of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group held in the framework of the Annual Spring Meetings.

During the meeting, a wide range of important financial and economic issues were discussed, including ensuring macroeconomic stability, implementing monetary policy taking into account geopolitical risks, strengthening development prospects as well as the impact of uncertainties against the backdrop of global conflicts.

The head of the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan - First Deputy Prime Minister of the country Kholiqzoda Hokim Hikmatullo in his speech has assessed the role of international financial institutions in the economic and social development of the country as important, emphasizing that such meetings provide a favorable basis for strengthening multilateral dialogue, studying the best practices of constituency countries, and protecting the interests of member countries.

It was noted that close cooperation with the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group plays a key role in the implementation of important infrastructure and socio-economic projects as well as the implementation of consistent reforms in the field of macroeconomic policy and the financial sector.

Also, the current situation of the global economy, which is influenced by geopolitical factors, uncertainty in supply chains and climate risks, was noted and the need to strengthen international cooperation, develop free trade and coordinate financial support was emphasized.

In conclusion, the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan has expressed the country's willingness to continue beneficial cooperation and strengthen long-term partnerships within the constituency period.
