In order to improve the financial literacy of population and ensure the protection of their legitimate rights and interests as consumers of financial services, the "Program for Improving the Financial Literacy of Population for 2026–2030" was approved by the Government Resolution No. 75 of February 26, 2026.
Improving the financial literacy of the population plays an important role in the development of the banking system, ensuring its effective functioning, and strengthening public confidence in the country's financial system. In this context, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the National Bank of Tajikistan, in collaboration with relevant ministries and agencies, financial institutions, and development partners, is implementing a number of measures to improve the financial literacy of the population.
With the expansion of financial inclusion, the spread of cashless payments, and rapid growth of digital financial services in the country, an importance of financial literacy for ensuring the stability of the financial system has become even more significant. The main goal of the Program is to foster rational financial behavior among citizens when making decisions related to managing their personal funds, to ensure the protection of their rights and interests as investors and consumers of financial services, and to improve the standard and quality of life of the population through the use of high-quality financial products and services.
