On August 7, 2019, the meeting of Deputy Chairman Gulbahor Naziri and the Second Secretary of the Japan Embassy in Tajikistan, Ms. Araki Kozue, and a representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Office, Mr. Nishio Masaya was held in the National Bank of Tajikistan.
At the beginning of the meeting, it was noted that the friendly and partnership relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and Japan, which are based on mutual respect, have yielded fruitful results with the active support of the Embassy of Japan and the JICA office in recent years, contributing to the implementation of important social and economic projects.
These projects cover the sectors of education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, energy, and personnel training, and have played an effective role in strengthening the capacity of sectoral institutions and improving the living standards of the population.
Furthermore, the parties have exchanged views on establishing cooperation with Japan in all areas of mutual interest, including with JICA, and expressed their willingness to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation and implement joint programs.
The meeting was held in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and respect, and both sides have emphasized their interest in developing new initiatives and their further expansion.
