On May 12, 2025, the meetings of two Working groups of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) on digital financial services (DFSWG) and on financial inclusion strategy (FISPLG) began at the Training Center of the National Bank of Tajikistan "Majmaai Khutalon" with participation of representatives of central banks of the AFI member countries and financial sector authorities.
At the opening ceremony, the Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Firdavs Tolibzoda called the conference an important platform for the exchange of experience and international cooperation, stating that "we are honored to host this important international event, since the topics discussed, namely the expansion of digital financial services and strengthening the financial inclusion strategy, are an important part of the national development of the Republic of Tajikistan."

It was noted that the Republic of Tajikistan has made significant progress in the field of financial inclusion since joining the AFI (in 2011), and that broad reforms, modernization of the financial sector, expansion of digitalization and support for inclusion, especially women, youth and vulnerable groups, are important areas of public policy.
Financial inclusion is today seen as an important mean of expanding access to quality financial services, sustainable development, improving the business environment, strengthening social protection and developing human resources. Sharing knowledge and experience in building inclusive and sustainable financial systems is of great importance for the development of regional cooperation, technical innovations and their implementation.
Continuing the opening ceremony, the AFI Director of Policy Programs and Regional Initiatives Eliki Boletava spoke about the achievements of member countries in achieving financial inclusion, stating that the Working group meetings allow participants to share mutual experiences and use best practices and modern innovations to create inclusive and sustainable financial systems in their countries.

The AFI Working group meetings will continue from 12 to 15 May, laying the groundwork for strengthening cooperation, developing financial inclusion policies and expanding digital services among member countries, as well as representing the Republic of Tajikistan as an active country in the international financial inclusion network.
It should be noted that the AFI is the leading global alliance in the field of development and implementation of financial inclusion policies, and its activities are aimed at advancing financial inclusion policies in member countries.

The National Bank of Tajikistan is a member of eight AFI Working groups. The AFI Working groups work on financial inclusion statistics, international supervisory standards, studying international experience in developing and implementing national financial inclusion strategies, digital financial services, protecting the rights of financial consumers, access to finance for small and medium-sized enterprises and green finance.
