On April 3, 2025, Mr. Sirojiddin Ikromi, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, met with representatives from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Within the framework of PCI, the parties discussed various key areas, including projections for financial market growth, reforms within Tajikistan's insurance sector and the advancement of insurance services, as well as the digitalization of banking operations. The parties reviewed accomplishments made in these domains and outlined future strategies.

During the review of the insurance reform program, it was noted that the country's insurance market, as an integral part of the financial system, has been developing in recent years. The initiatives of the National Bank of Tajikistan in this direction are aimed at reducing the vulnerability of various sectors of the national economy and increasing the insurance culture among the population. It was noted that within the framework of this reform, the introduction of new reporting standards and the creation of a favorable legislative framework are considered priority areas.
The parties discussed the implementation of government policies promoting non-cash payments and digital financial services, expressing a willingness to broaden these initiatives.

The meeting concluded with an acknowledgment that the IMF delegation's visit, conducted as part of the second Policy Coordination Instrument review, signifies a pivotal moment in strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and the International Monetary Fund. This collaboration is expected to significantly contribute to the advancement of Tajikistan's financial sector.
