Mr. Ko Sakamoto received an update regarding the nation's macroeconomic landscape. While acknowledging regional economic uncertainty, it was emphasized that key indicators within the country's banking system remain stable.
The discussion also encompassed the influence of external factors on the national economy. Topics included strategies for attracting foreign investment, sustaining economic reforms, advancing the financial market, fostering digital transformation across various sectors, and enhancing payment and insurance systems.
It was noted that in recent years, the National Bank of Tajikistan has undertaken significant structural reforms aimed at establishing a robust framework for monetary policy. These reforms are intended to enhance public trust in the banking system, optimize liquidity and interest rate mechanisms, and pave the way for a measured shift towards an inflation-targeting regime.
It is natural that these reforms are carried out in close collaboration with international financial institutions. We express confidence that the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will provide support to the National Bank of Tajikistan during these crucial changes, F.Tolibzoda stressed.
