Reflection of national history and culture in commemorative coins


Numismatics is the science or art of collecting coins, bullions, and other historical monetary symbols. This field has contributed to the study of history and has developed as a cultural tradition in the community of various countries.

Collecting commemorative and jubilee coins as an integral part of this industry is of interest not only to collectors, but also to historical researchers, as it helps to find interesting information about the history and economic and political processes of various periods, national or international holidays and representations of great personalities of that time. Commemorative and jubilee coins also play an important role in replenishing collections and communicating to the public the importance of the country's historical and cultural values.

The National Bank of Tajikistan draws the attention of citizens to the fact that its cash service points and regional branches have established the sale of commemorative and jubilee coins. Commemorative coins were minted from pure silver in honor of anniversaries of great figures of Tajik-Persian classical literature and important historical dates for numismatic purposes. Including commemorative and jubilee coins:

1. “The 600th anniversary of Abdurakhmon Jomi” - the great Persian-Tajik poet and thinker.

2. “700th anniversary of Mir Sayyid Ali Hamadoni" - Persian-Tajik scientist, philosopher and poet, historical figure.

3. “The 20th anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan" - one of the historical dates of the State, symbolizing the strengthening of rights, freedoms and the rule of law in the country.

4. “The 90th Anniversary of the city of Dushanbe" - the capital and cultural and economic center of Tajikistan (in three versions) featuring the Sadriddin Aini Opera and Ballet Theater, the National Library of the Republic of Tajikistan and the National Museum of the Republic of Tajikistan.

5. “5500th anniversary of Sarazm" - a monument to the history of the Tajik people in the Zeravshan Valley and a cultural symbol of the ancient region of Tajikistan.

6. “3000th anniversary of Hisor" - a monument to the history of the Tajik people in the Hisor Valley and a cultural symbol of the ancient region of Tajikistan.

7. “Olympic Games" - a sign of success and recognition of sports skills of Tajiks on the world stage (in three formats) ski jumping, Slalom and Biathlon.

8. “20th Anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan" - the date of celebration of the modern history of the Republic of Tajikistan.

9. “The 10th anniversary of the Eurasian Economic Union" - the historical date of the conclusion of the agreement on economic relations between the countries of the region.

10. “In honor of the start of the Roghun HPP" - an extremely important and historic event for the Tajik people.
