The meeting of Chairman of National Bank of Tajikistan Firdavs Tolibzoda and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the UAE Ashrafjon Gulov with Chairman of the Central Bank of this country Mr. Kholid Muhammad Balama and management of the bank was held on December 9, 2024 as part of a working visit to the United Arab Emirates.
At the meeting the parties have discussed current issues related to the banking system and expressed their willingness to develop and expand the interbank relations in field of banking supervision, payment systems, combating the legalization of proceeds from crime and the financing of terrorism, opening correspondent accounts, managing international resources, digital currencies and digitalization of the banking system. Also, the parties have reached agreement on arranging and conducting training events in order to exchange information on the above-mentioned issues.
Based on this, the parties have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation and exchange of information between the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates and the National Bank of Tajikistan.
It should be noted that this document can promote strengthening cooperation in the banking sector of two countries, the exchange of experience and knowledge, and can start a new level of cooperation.
