The delegation of the National Bank of Tajikistan headed by Sharifzoda Firuz Homiddin, the First Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, took part in the 14th meeting of the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Policy Initiative (ECAPI).
At the meeting of the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Policy Initiative, issues related to the activities of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion and the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Policy Initiative following the Global Policy Forum in Manila, Philippines, the work plan of the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Policy Initiative for 2024-2028 (Phase II), updating the ECAPI charter, and other topics were discussed.
Representatives from the National Bank of Tajikistan also participated in the working groups "Consumer Empowerment and Market Conduct (CEMCWG)", " Financial Inclusion Data (FIDWG)", "Financial Inclusion Strategy Policy (FISPWG)" and "Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Financing (SMEFWG)" as part of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion Global Policy Forum.
The 28th Meeting of the working group on consumer empowerment and market conduct examined financial services, opportunities and difficulties in consumer protection, and identified next measures. Furthermore, presentations by the central banks of Malaysia, Uganda, El Salvador, Honduras and the Philippines were presented on the relevant topic.
During the gathering of the working group focused on financial inclusion data, topics such as the evaluation of key financial inclusion indicators, measurement techniques, and policy models drawing from the experiences of API member states were addressed. Additionally, it was announced that the subgroup would commence its activities to establish a "Unified information portal for data accessibility."
It is important to highlight that during the 25th meeting of the Financial Inclusion Strategy Policy group, the Republic of El Salvador shared its insights on the implementation of the National Financial Inclusion Strategy for 2021-2024 along with additional efforts in this field. Concurrently, discussions took place regarding the organization of training activities by AFI members, formulating strategies for ongoing financial inclusion, the move towards national strategies for sustainable financial inclusion (SNFIS), and various other subjects.
The 23rd meeting of the working group on SME financing included an exchange of experiences on SME financing policy, market efficiency, priority industries, and alternative financing channels for SMEs, credit infrastructure, and the legal framework for regulation. Furthermore, information was supplied on the process of the subgroups' activities in terms of research and scientific achievements, and next steps were identified.
It is important to mention that during this Forum, the attendees of the "Women’s World Banking Leadership Diversity Program for Regulators 2024" showcased their projects.

At this event, the representative of the National Bank of Tajikistan presented her project on "Expanding access of women entrepreneurs to financial tools" and received a certificate from the initiators of the Women's World Bank.
It should be noted that the National Bank of Tajikistan is a member of 7 working groups of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion, including Consumer Empowerment and Market Conduct (CEMCWG), Digital Financial Services (DFSWG), Financial Inclusion Data (FIDWG), Financial Inclusion Strategy Policy Strategy (FISPLG), Global Standard proportionality (GSPWG), Inclusive Green Finance (IGFWG) and Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Financing (SMEFWG).
It is important to highlight that the knowledge acquired from involvement in the previously discussed groups enables the adoption of innovations and global initiatives for the effective execution of the National Financial Inclusion Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2022-2026.
