Sharifzoda Firuz Homiddin, the First Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, attended the AFI Global Policy Forum meetings in San Salvador, Republic of El Salvador, from September 1 to 5, this year.
Within the framework of this Forum, the Annual general meeting of AFI, meetings of working groups, the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Policy Initiative (ECAPI) and a number of bilateral meetings were held, and issues related to innovative policy for global inclusion, gender equality, digitalization, etc. were discussed.
The purpose of holding events is to share experiences and ideas, models and practices of innovative policies that contribute to successful and effective financial inclusion, as well as to encourage AFI member countries to implement inclusive innovative policies in member countries.
During the event, it was announced that in 2025, meetings of two AFI working groups (Digital Financial Services (DFSWG) and Financial Inclusion Strategy (FISPLG) will be held in the Republic of Tajikistan.
It is important to highlight that during the Forum's activities, the NBT's First Deputy Chairman Sharifzoda F.H. held a media interview discussing the progress made in financial inclusion strategies in Tajikistan, the potential of digital financial services, and upcoming reform steps for inclusive and stable financial sector development.
It's important to note that the National Bank of Tajikistan joined the Alliance for Financial Inclusion in 2011.
