Meeting with the Central Bank of Azerbaijan officials

On July 1, 2024, Firdavs Tolibzoda, Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, held a meeting with Toleh Kazimov, Chairman of the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan. This meeting occurred within the framework of the meetings of constituency countries of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group, scheduled to take place in Dushanbe from July 1 to 3, 2024.

The meeting served as a platform for the discussion of enhanced cooperation between the parties. The signing of the "Memorandum of Understanding between the National Bank of Tajikistan and the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan" and the "Memorandum between the Financial Monitoring Department of the National Bank of Tajikistan and the Financial Monitoring Service of the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan on cooperation in the field of CLPC/FT/FPWMD " were deemed positive outcomes of the meeting and reciprocal visits between the leaders of the central banks of these two nations.

The dialogue encompassed a discussion of augmenting collaborative efforts between the banking systems of both nations. Participants expressed their intention to strive for a higher level and enhanced quality of cooperation.

Concurrent to existing initiatives, the establishment of conditions conducive to the opening of banking institutions or representative offices by Azerbaijani banks was underscored as a key priority for future cooperation. This focus extends to fostering inter-bank relationships, facilitating knowledge sharing in banking supervision and insurance practices, advancing capital market development, and implementing international financial reporting standards.
