Unity - the greatest gift and achievement of the Tajik nation


A grand festive event took place at the National Bank of Tajikistan on June 25, 2024, in honor of the 27th anniversary of National Unity Day, attended by the bank's leadership and staff.

Firdavs Tolibzoda, Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, extended his greetings for the national holiday and highlighted that National Unity Day is observed as a significant day of triumph over separatist forces and the commencement of a new historical era in the ancient Tajik nation's calendar.

Twenty seven years have passed since signing of the important General Agreement on Peace and National Accord on June 27, 1997. This document was signed after extensive negotiations led by the nation’s respected Leader to protect the country's unity and ensure its peace and stability. We are grateful that the peace agreement has brought lasting peace to our beloved nation, enabling the people to rebuild and prosper after enduring the challenges of war.

The National Unity celebration in Tajikistan symbolizes the union of all residents, the integrity of borders and land, embodying the tolerant and humanitarian culture of its people. The Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, played a crucial role in protecting the state and society, bringing peace and stability.

As peace and calmness prevail, Tajikistan, now a recognized member of the global community, continues to solidify its national sovereignty and enhance its economic and social progress steadily.

F. Tolibzoda stressed that in order to maintain national unity and a peaceful atmosphere of peace and stability in the country, it is important for each of us to stay updated, encourage and guide current and future generations to study modern science, including the advancements in science and technology and new technologies, including their implementation in the banking system, study of foreign languages. He also stressed the importance of not allowing young people to join extremist parties and movements, blindly imitate foreign culture and morals, but instead educate them in the spirit of preserving the customs and traditions of our ancestors.

The Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan also extended his congratulations to the audience on the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of the National Bank of Tajikistan (established by the decision of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Tajikistan on June 28, 1991, based on the State Bank of the Soviet Union). He highlighted that the National Bank of Tajikistan and the country's banking system have seen improvements since the end of the civil war and the attainment of national unity, with the guidance of the esteemed Leader of Peace and National Unity - President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, playing a crucial role in fortifying and enhancing this system.

Following that, Sultan Hasan Barotzoda, Head of the translation division of Chairman Office the NBT spoke about the importance of national unity in enhancing the state and statehood. He mentioned that the recent history of the country has entered a new phase of construction and development due to peace and national unity being restored. Peace and stability being restored allowed for the commencement and execution of significant economic and social initiatives, such as achieving energy self-sufficiency, resolving communication issues, securing food self-sufficiency, and promoting various political and cultural endeavors.

Additionally, members of the Bank's Youth Council paid tribute to National Unity and recited poetry written by Tajik authors.

Firdavs Tolibzoda, Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, once more extended warm congratulations to the attendees of National Unity Day, urging them to increase their contributions to the growth of the nation's banking system in order to enhance the pillars of independence and promote unity within the country.
