On May 29, Firdavs Talibzoda, Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, held a meeting with a delegation from the International Financial Corporation (IFC). The delegation was led by
Ms. Ilhem Salomon, the Regional Director of the Department of Economy and Consulting Services in the Middle East, Central Asia, Turkey, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.

Firdavs Tolibzoda, Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, initially expressed his contentment with the collaboration between the National Bank of Tajikistan and IFC. He specifically acknowledged the International Financial Corporation's role in enhancing corporate governance within the country's banking system, refining regulatory laws, fostering the growth of modern digital financial services, and formulating a national expansion strategy to ensure access to financial services for the population.
The meeting focused on various topics including bilateral cooperation, progress in the implementation of IFC projects such as "Assets based Finance – ABF" and "Supporting the digital and innovative development of the financial sector of the Republic of Tajikistan". Additionally, discussions were held regarding the initiation of new projects involving underground geothermal energy and a plan for their future implementation.

Ms. Ilhem Salomon, Head of the IFC delegation, discussed the encouraging statistical trend and indicators of the economy and banking system in Tajikistan. She also expressed the International Financial Corporation's willingness to provide support for future projects.
It was mentioned that the National Bank of Tajikistan and the IFC are currently discussing the signing of a Cooperation Agreement to provide technical assistance. This agreement aims to improve the regulatory legal framework and promote the development of modern digital financial services. The beneficial cooperation between the two organizations is expected to grow further in the future.
