Meeting with IFC Management
On April 16 of the current year, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kholiqzoda H., Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan for Economic Issues Hikmatullozoda N., Minister of Finance of the Republic of Tajikistan Qahhorzoda F., Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Tolibzoda F.and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan at the IMF and the World Bank Group Amirzoda P. met with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) Managing Director Makhtar Diop and IFC Regional Vice President Hela Cheikhrouhou. The meeting took place on the IMF Spring Meetings sidelines.
During the meeting, the parties discussed various areas of development of cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the International Financial Corporation, including direct lending and investment in the development of business and private sector, development of modern digital financial services, green financing and achieving goals in terms of reducing the consequences of climate change. They also discussed technical assistance to increase the level of corporate governance in the banking sector, consumer rights protection and improvement of the legal framework in this sector.
It was noted that using the established relations between the institutions of both parties, the IFC will continue its support to carry out reforms the development of which is a priority for Tajikistan.
