Meeting of IMF governors from Middle East and Central Asia countries

On April 17, 2024, Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Tolibzoda Firdavs participated in the afternoon meeting of the International Monetary Fund governors from Middle East and Central Asia countries on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group in Washington, USA.

 

During the meeting, IMF governors from Middle East and Central Asia countries were provided a survey on monetary condition in the region.

In the course of the afternoon meeting, the participants discussed the meeting’s agenda, such as financing projects to combat climate change, preparing a financial sector for a green future, strategies to increase the readiness and resilience of financial sectors to reach the potential of private climate finance, the role of regulatory authorities in reducing climate-related risks in financial sectors and the development of domestic capital markets, and expressed their opinions to solve the mentioned issues.
