NBT and Customs Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in AML/CFT/PWMDFP sphere

On October 4, 2018 training seminar for the representatives of the Custom Service took place by the initiative of the NBT Financial Monitoring Department with the view of extension of effective cooperation between the National Bank of Tajikistan and the Customs Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in Anti-money Laundering and Combating Terrorism Financing and Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction Financing Prevention (AML/CFT/PWMDFP) sphere.

Mr. Faizullozoda F., Director of the NBT Financial Monitoring Department has opened a meeting and stated that protection of state security and prevention of negative developments, like Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing is not only the priorities of corresponding bodies, but also the priorities of each citizens of the Republic.

It should be noted that according to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan №966 as of December 12, 2017, the National Bank of Tajikistan was appointed as authorised body in the AML/CFT/PWMDFP.

Then, for introduction of participant with AML/CFT/PWMDFP activities presentations on legislative requirements of the Republic of Tajikistan on AML/CFT/PWMDFP, FATF Recommendations on identification and prevention of transition of money resources, procedure of presentation of reports to authorised bodies, extension of cooperation between the National Bank of Tajikistan and the Customs Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan were made by the responsible specialists of the Financial Monitoring Department.

During discussion the seminar participants received detail information on clarification of regulatory legal acts, including legislation of the country on AML/CFT/PWMDFP according to delivered presentations and interactive training.

At the end of seminar the active participants of seminar were presented “Work recommendation on AML/CFT/PWMDFP”, developed by the NBT Financial Monitoring Department.
