Meeting of the Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey
On May 7, 2024, the meeting of Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Firdavs Tolibzoda with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Umut Ajar was held.
During the conversation, the parties discussed the current state of the banking system in the Republic of Tajikistan, expansion of cooperation in the banking system and future actions, opening of correspondent accounts, establishment of branches of the Republic of Turkey's banks in the Republic of Tajikistan, cooperation in the development of the "green" economy, and the prospects of cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Turkey.
Firdavs Tolibzoda, Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, introduced the Ambassador to the country's macroeconomic situation and banking system, noting that the Republic of Tajikistan's banking legislation created favorable conditions for the establishment of foreign banks, branches, and representative offices in Tajikistan and the National Bank of Tajikistan, within the scope of the current legislation and in coordination with other government bodies is ready to consider proposals for creating subsidiary banks, branches, and representative offices of Turkish banks in Tajikistan. The presence of foreign capital in an economy indicates its attractiveness to foreign investors, and the state ensures equal rights for both foreign and domestic investors.
Mr. Umut Ajar, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to the Republic of Tajikistan, welcomed the National Bank of Tajikistan's interest in expanding cooperation in the two countries' financial systems.
Finally, the parties underlined their wish for continued successful cooperation that benefits not only the banking sector but also the country's economy.
